Amarnath Yatra 2011 and Vaishno Devi Darshan

Amarnath Yatra and Vaishno Devi Darshan is a pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave which is situated on mount Amarnath in Kashmir. It is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vaishno Devi Darshan. Every year more than a million people make the journey to Amarnath cave. The Amarnath Yatra and Vaishno Devi Darshan is organised in the month of June and July and usually ends by mid august hence this temple is open for a very short time of the year. Amarnath yatra 2011 will begin on 29 June 2011 and end on 13 Aug 2011.

Like every year, this year also Aamarnath Yatra 2011 is conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board which is led by a senior officer of the government under the chairmanship of the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Registration of pilgrims for the yatra is compulsory. The Amarnath yatra and Vaishno Devi Darshan route is very risky and passes through high mountains, so only a specific number of people are allowed on the route at a time to control the chaos. Registration also helps to find lost people, and it also helps the officials identify the person in case of death as many deaths have happened in Amarnath. Apart from these benefits, all registered pilgrims are insured for a sum of rupees one lakh in event of death. The countdown has begun for the Amarnath yatra 2011 and Vaishno Devi Darshan with the State Government finalising all arrangements for the pilgrims.

The registration for Amarnath Yatra and Vaishno Devi Darshan Booking 2011 has started from 10th May 2011. The registration counters for Amarnath yatra 2011 and Vaishno Devi Yatra has been increased to 149 from last year's 121 counters. Not only this, online e-registration has also been introduced for Amarnath yatra  and Vaishno Devi Yatra.Jammu and Kashmir bank is the agency appointed by Jammu and Kashmir government for registration of pilgrims. Registration of pilgrims for Amarnath yatra 2011 can be done at any of the assigned branches of Jammu and Kashmir bank. One can also provisionally register for the Amarnath yatra and Vaishno Devi Darshan online and you can use these provisional registration slips at special counters set up in Jammu and Srinagar.


by Helicopter booking for Amarnath yatra 2011 and Vaishno Devi Darshan has also started from May 2011. Besides 121 Jammu and Kashmir Bank branches,this year an additional 24 Yes Bank branches have been appointed for registration of Amarnath yatra 2011 and Vaishno Devi Yatra.The information about these banks and their various branches can be found on the internet.
